SAISA

As the season draws closer, practices have become more rigorous and it's become evident that I have to work on my conditioning. I've started to do so by doing pull ups and other exercises to increase my fitness. Since i'm playing a more physical position, i've also been working on my free throws to capitalize on any fouls. Also in Habitat for Humanity, we had to design a poster for the CIS Accreditation and along with Aamil we designed a good poster for them and we were congratulated by the leaders.

Habitat For Humanity

I chose a new service project this year, Habitat for Humanity, because I felt drawn to it after the presentation, especially after the mention of IDPs in the north; and so by instinct I decided to join it, and it was a good decision. I joined the group that was planning a movie night for the primary school on Halloween, so that we could raise funds to receive a charter from the main organization. We have been spending the last few weeks planning and fine tuning the final project and it has been confirmed by Mr Campbell, and we look forward to raising a lot of money for the charter. Basketball season has also started and practices have been intense and fun, and the final team selection will be held on Friday the 9th of October, and i've been training hard and so i hope i make it this year, since its my final year.

New Elective - Basketball

Remor and I decided to lead a new elective: basketball for grades 9 to 12, to just learn some basic skills and also to serve as a place where we could trade ideas about plays and defence formations. I feel that it's a good idea, and we've had a lot of new ideas which we're using for our season, staring on 29th September. So far it's been good, although i feel we should have more time for electives, so we could develop skills more effectively.

Grade 12 - New Beginnings

Over the summer, i was busy with work experience and i also managed to squeeze in time for some basketball. I spent most of the time polishing up some skills that have been flaws in my game: free throw shooting and post up moves. I feel that i spent my time in the summer effectively and managed to stay fit and learn some new skills as well which was what i was planning to do during the summer.
